About us
S and T can stand for Sarah and Todd, however we believe it stands for Safety and Trust. Sarah and Todd have been involved and helping people with disabilities the majority of their lives.
Sarah has been working with individuals with disabilities since elementary school, when she was a peer mentor for classmates all through her schooling. She then went on to become a special education teacher. While working in middle school and high school for 18 years, Sarah has worked with, cared for, and taught students with a wide range of disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, medical needs, Intellectual Disabilities, behavioral challenges and emotional disabilities.
Todd has an uncle with cerebral palsy, and learned from a young age about caring for and helping individuals with disabilities. He was the site director for a day care providing before/after school care for young children with and without disabilities for 5 years. He then went on to be a paramedic for 18 years working in emergency services for a private ambulance company for 6 years and then with the Thornton Fire Department for 12 years. Todd worked as a paraprofessional in a significant support needs classroom for 5 years helping students with significant behavioral, medical and personal care needs.
Sarah and Todd are continuing to follow their passion of helping and nurturing individuals of all ages with disabilities by moving into respite care work. They will use their considerable collective expertise to provide meaningful, safe, nurturing experiences for their clients with disabilities, while also offering families and caregivers time for themselves to rest and rejuvenate.
